by admin on mar.01, 2010, under Featured Artists, Various

More than fifty acts have been confirmed for Nuits Sonores, the annual Spring festival in Lyon, France.

As in previous years, the lineup presents a diverse mix of big name DJs, experimental indie bands and just about everything in between. On the house and techno front, headliners include Laurent Garnier, Joris Voorn, Paul Kalkbrenner, Dixon, Seth Troxler and Claude VonStroke. New York house producer Dennis Ferrer will also get behind the decks, along with Clara Moto, Dominik Eulberg and Matias Aguayo. Marcel Dettmann and Ben Klock will bring the murky Ostgut vibe, while Prins Thomas, Todd Terje, Lindstrom & Christabelle offer up the soaring disco sounds of Norway. Experimental house pioneer Matthew Herbert will also make an appearance, along with French jocks like Chloé and Agoria.

Promoters of the Mannheim’s Time Warp festival have confirmed that this year’s event will include a live performance by Plastikman, Richie Hawtin’s early production alias.

It was under this moniker that Hawtin released much of his seminal work, including singles like “Krakpot,” “Spastik,” and albums like Artifakts and Musik. In addition to performing live as Plastikman, Hawtin will also DJ alongside the usual who’s who of techno and minimal superstars, including Ricardo Villalobos, Sven Vath, Laurent Garnier, Loco Dice and more. Plastikman has also been confirmed for the Coachella Festival in California on April 18th.

by admin on fév.01, 2010, under Various

RA concludes its week-long look back with our round-up of the best tracks of the past decade.

Around the turn of the century, the music went back underground in order to revitalize itself.”

Whether it be house, techno, disco, drum & bass, jazz, trip-hop, ambient or all of it at once, these were the many sounds that made up the past decade for us.
